Welcome to the new emergence site.  We hope you like the changes.  A lot of thought has gone into the new design, which has been developed with Proagrica, and we were guided by the feedback that you gave via our survey last year. This change reflects our commitment to our mission to bring you timely information on transboundary and emerging diseases. We will continue to have “Focus On…” articles written by experts and we are especially pleased with how the global map of diseases makes it easier to visualize outbreaks around the world. We think this revamp makes everything on the website much more accessible, so we hope that you enjoy exploring the site.

We listened to your feedback and have revamped the website to make it an even better experience while we bring you updates on transboundary and emerging diseases. We hope you like our new logo that symbolizes boundaries and diseases moving in waves while encapsulating the “e”.

You will also notice the new logo.  Without getting into too much “marketing speak”, it symbolizes boundaries and diseases moving in waves while encapsulating the “e”.  Personally, I just like the sweep to it.  Keep your eyes open for where it might turn up. See if you can spot the logo on a lapel pin at conferences.  You never know, if you ask you may even be given one.

Podcast

By now you have hopefully also found, and listened to, the emergence podcast which was launched in November.  If you haven’t yet seen it then head over here. The podcast will give you field reports from conferences, updates on news items and disease outbreaks, and views on research.  There will be interviews and discussions with other people, including leading experts in the field.
