OIE reported African swine fever (ASF) affecting a semi-intensive pig farm in Uasin Gishu.

The Allegheny County Health Department reported that a feral cat tested positive for rabies in Baldwin Borough. This is the second cat found with rabies in Allegheny County this year (with a total of 23rd rabid animals reported in the county in 2019 until 2nd October: 16 raccoons, five bats, and two cats).

Two new cases of African swine fever (ASF) takes the total to 13 outbreaks since the first one on September 17th. Control measures include the culling of around 115,000 pigs so far in the country.
