OIE reported highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 on a poultry farm in Meyang, first occurrence in the country.

OIE reported African swine fever (ASF) on six pig farms in Bagmati. This is the first occurrence of ASF in the country.

The State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic, informed the OIE that a simulation exercise will take place from 23 to 26 May 2022 on foot and mouth disease (FMD), highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and African swine fever (ASF) in the Boletice Military Training Area. This will include theoretical and practical training of administrative personnel in co-operation with the Veterinary Military Service. The aim is to apply emergency measures in line with contingency plans for FMD, HPAI and ASF.
