The Animal Health Department of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan, informed WOAH that a joint real-scale associative simulation exercise on avian influenza, foot and mouth disease and rabies will take place in Absheron peninsula of the Republic of Azerbaijan from 16 to 17 November, 2022. The aim of the exercise (which will include table-top and field exercises) is to maintain the response skills of the Veterinary Services and the preparedness of the country in the event of a simultaneous occurrence of FMD, high pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and rabies.

WOAH reported highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Peruvian pelican in Playa Cangrejos, in de Paita district.

The Director of Animal Health, informed WOAH that a simulation exercise on an animal health emergency will take place in the municipality of Presidente Getúlio, province of Santa Catarina, from 19 to 26 November 2022. The exercise will aim to train and evaluate the response capacity of the Brazilian Veterinary Service to an outbreak of African swine fever, following the guidelines of the National Contingency Plan for the disease.
