The Washoe County Health District has confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus (WNV) for 2019.

The Mississippi Department of Health confirmed 4 more people to have West Nile virus (WNV), bringing the state’s total this year to 13 cases.

Health officials have declared an outbreak of West Nile virus (WNV) in the Las Vegas/Clark County area after receiving reports of 28 cases of the disease in humans. This is the highest case count in a season since the virus was first detected in the state in 2004.
