WOAH reported highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 in black-headed gull in Salo.

The Committee of Veterinary Control and Supervision informed WOAH that a simulation exercise on African horse sickness (AHS) and equine influenza will be conducted from 21 to 23 June 2023 in the Akmola region, Kazakhstan, to assess the response preparedness to the occurrence of AHS and equine influenza and enhance the disease control efficiency of the national veterinary services, in line with the WOAH standards. The exercise will include multiple stakeholders such as research institutes, state veterinary organizations, emergencies authorities, internal affairs bodies and healthcare organizations.
