Event Report – Pasteur Institut Rabies Workshop, Morocco 2019

JOHN ATKINSON
Associate Director, International Veterinary Health

The latest of the excellent rabies training courses organised by Institut Pasteur took place between 17th-27th September 2019 in Morocco. Supported by a range of organisations including OIE, WHO, and University of Glasgow, this comprehensive course trained delegates from 9 countries from across Northern and West Africa on all aspects of rabies control in both classroom and practical settings. A train the trainer approach is encouraged, and participants finish the course equipped with the knowledge, confidence and expertise to design and implement effective rabies control programmes including dog vaccination in their own countries. MSD Animal Health were delighted to support the event, with John Atkinson, Ouahid Kibaye, and Sylvain Bareille from our International Veterinary Health and regional Maghreb teams in attendance at the opening ceremony in Casablanca.
