Joining together to raise awareness

We may have the tools to eliminate rabies, including high quality dog vaccines, but to achieve the #ZeroBy30 goal we need to raise awareness about this neglected disease. In some parts of the world, such as Europe and North America, rabies is not a constant threat, but it is just as important to raise awareness in these regions as it is in those where the disease is endemic. There are so many ways to get involved, including raising money for a rabies charity, getting hands on with a rabies volunteer trip to another country, or even just talking about rabies. The more people know about this disease, the better chance the world has of eliminating it.

Share and like to spread the word about stopping rabies

Everything step makes a difference. Simply by using social media anyone can start and join in with conversations about rabies elimination. So, go ahead, share and like, and get involved. Why not start by checking out #ZeroBy30 and #RabiesHero?

Take the #Rabies360Challenge

Taking place throughout September in the build up to World Rabies Day on the 28^th September, this is your chance to help raise awareness about rabies and help save lives. The great thing is that it is so easy to get involved. Anyone anywhere in the world can take part. Simply choose an activity, set your goal, and then start sharing your progress towards achieving your #Rabies360challenge.

Follow the United Against Rabies Forum

To help implement the Global Strategic Plan on the Elimination of Human Deaths from Dog Mediated Rabies, the WHO, FAO and OIE announced the new United Against Rabies Forum at a Global Virtual Event on 22^nd September 2020 (“United Against Rabies: One Health in Action”).
