WOAH reported African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Campania.

WOAH reported bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) prion, atypical strain, L-type, in a 9 year old beef type cow in Tennessee, detected as part of the United States’ targeted surveillance program for BSE. The identified animal did not enter food supply channels and did not present a risk to human health.

The Veterinary Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia, informed WOAH that a simulation exercise for foot and mouth disease (FMD) will take place from 22 to 31 May 2023 in the Republic of Serbia.
